The young golfer will have multiple prominent backers as she starts her first LPGA appearance later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, received a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in the Sunshine State.
Her grandfather, someone who loves golf, possesses several international courses and frequently plays against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I shouldn't elaborate but we have tight competitions," she revealed.
She mentioned that her grandfather, who won't be present, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"My grandpa essentially advised me to compete and enjoy myself," she added.
"In my eyes, he's just a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's focused on running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, the golfer has competed in a mere three competitions recently and maintains ranking 461 in AJGA standings.
However she's able to get advice from golf legend, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He is the greatest golfer in the world," the young golfer said.
"And he's an even better person. He suggested me to go out there, relax, and go with whatever happens."
She'll challenge some of the biggest names in women's golf at the Annika, featuring second-ranked the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that Kai's presence helps introduce golf to different demographics, specifically with the next generation.
The young star maintains millions of followers and recently launched her own apparel and wellness brand.
The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
