Patrick Bamford Joins the Blades Despite Leading Abusive Songs Targeting Manager Wilder

Patrick Bamford has signed with the Championship side only half a year following starting disrespectful chants targeting the team's coach, Wilder.

This experienced forward, a free agent since leaving Leeds, has signed a agreement with the second-tier club in difficulty through the winter. His seven-year career at Elland Road finished amicably in August.

Among Bamford’s last memorable actions while at Leeds was to lead abusive songs regarding Wilder during the club’s success festivities this spring. Currently, the former England player is set to play for Wilder as the Blades’ manager seeks to pull the team he loves out of the drop zone.

Previous Conflict Between the Striker & Wilder

The pair had history prior to Leeds won promotion back to the Premier League last season while Sheffield United lost the playoff final by Sunderland. The manager described the forward as a "muppet" back when the roles were reversed during the 2018-19 season and the Blades secured direct promotion whereas Leeds United fell short in the playoffs.

Reconciliation & Looking Ahead

All seems has been put behind them with Sheffield United, the league's least productive attack, in desperate need of a boost in attack while Bamford looking to rejuvenate his career.

The song about Wilder went viral in April. A repentant Patrick along with Leeds boss, Daniel Farke, phoned the Sheffield United manager the following day.

Chris Wilder said at the time: “Spoke with Pat yesterday and I’ve no problem at all with that. I'm uncertain about the language from a fellow professional! But I valued and respected him giving me a call.

“We spent a short while and similarly I talked with Daniel Farke too and had a half-hour chat together and he is a super guy, a top guy. Back in my playing days we would give it and accept it and that’s part and parcel of the game across all levels, even on Sunday league. I have absolutely no issue. I'm fine with it and I said that to Patrick.”

Latest Career Challenges

The forward featured in 18 games with Leeds United last season however the ex- Nottingham Forest, Chelsea FC and Boro player has struggled with injury over the past few seasons.
