Mohamed Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Salah said sorry to the group of players following the uproar from his public comments.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match subsequent to criticising the club and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The head coach has refused to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also noted that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the interview fallout. He feels the outburst were never meant to harm the team.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a place of caring,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, playing well and starting to win games.”
