David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.
Prolific writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.
An official for the publisher commented: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at women.
The publisher declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."
A Prolific Writing Journey
Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.
His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
