Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window

A jet carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was required to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.

"The jet landed based on established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, including Pete Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson stated in a social media post.

He was traveling back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital during the flight.

This occurrence does not mark the first time that a United States armed forces jet transporting a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.

Months ago, a American military jet carrying Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to return to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
